On February 13, the fifth and final ‘Resilient Teaching’ training session took place as part of the EU Erasmus+ project Supporting Adaptive and Flexible Education for War-Affected Students in Ukraine 101236049 -SAFE LEARN ERASMUS-EDU-2025-CBHE.
The fifth training session was devoted to the topic ‘Principles of a Trauma-Informed Approach in Creating a Safe Learning Environment.’ The session was attended by project participants: Nataliia Didyk, PhD in Psychology, Associate Professor, Associate Professor of the Department of General and Practical Psychology; Oksana Lohvina, PhD in Psychology, Associate Professor, Associate Professor of the Department of General and Practical Psychology; Yuliia Danchuk, PhD in Psychology, Associate Professor, Senior Lecturer of the Department of General and Practical Psychology; Olha Savitska, PhD in Psychology, Associate Professor, Associate Professor of the Department of General and Practical Psychology.
During the training, participants learned about the key principles of the trauma-informed approach, including trust, safety, support, collaboration, cultural sensitivity. The participants actively worked in groups to develop methodologies for applying trauma-informed principles in pedagogical practice and solved situational case studies from the perspective of trauma-sensitive teaching. After completing five training sessions, participants will take a final test, and those who pass will receive certificates.
