The training session entitled “Principles of a Trauma-Sensitive Approach to Creating a Safe Educational Environment”, conducted within the facilitator training programme for Ukrainian universities, was devoted to identifying and developing readiness to apply the six core principles of the trauma-informed approach (safety; trustworthiness and transparency; peer-to-peer support; collaboration and mutual assistance; empowerment, voice and choice; consideration of cultural, historical, and gender issues) in everyday teaching practice.
During the session, academic staff of Kamianets-Podilskyi Ivan Ohiienko National University had the opportunity to master practical strategies for implementing each principle in their own classes through group activities and open discussion.
Representatives of all faculties and the Educational and Research Institute of Ukrainian Philology and Journalism of Ohiienko University are taking part in the training sessions.
We express our gratitude to the Press Centre of Ohiienko University for the visual support of the event and to the Information Technology Centre for technical assistance.
