SAFE LEARN Erasmus+ Project Working Group Meeting Held at K-PNU

On March 30, 2026, a meeting of the working group of the international project Supporting Adaptive and Flexible Education for War-Affected Ukraine Students (101236049 — SAFE LEARN — ERASMUS-EDU-2025-CBHE.) took place at Kamianets-Podilskyi Ivan Ohiienko National University.

The meeting brought together representatives of the university administration and project team members, including the project coordinator, Acting Rector Nataliia Bakhmat; Project Manager and Head of the Office for International Cooperation Tetiana Storchova; as well as team members responsible for the development and implementation of trauma sensitive teaching methodologies: Olha Savitska, Nataliia Didyk, Oksana Lohvina, and Yuliia Danchuk.

The main focus of the meeting was a discussion of the outcomes of the project participants’ visit to Uppsala (Sweden), where the team undertook training at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU). The participants shared their experiences from the training sessions, their involvement in the development of educational video content, and their introduction to the Resilient Teaching course, which is planned to be implemented at the university.

Particular attention was paid to innovative teaching approaches aimed at fostering flexible and adaptive education, as well as to the use of art therapy practices within the educational process.

During the discussion, the working group outlined the next steps for project implementation. These include the preparation of a Google form to engage academic staff in training activities, clarification of selection criteria, and coordination of organizational aspects of the training sessions. Administrative support and coordination of specific organizational processes are provided by the project executive secretary, Kateryna Pentiuk.

Preparations for the implementation of the Resilient Teaching course for university staff began on April 1, 2026. The materials obtained during the study visit will be adapted and integrated into the university’s educational process.

The SAFE LEARN project aims to promote trauma-sensitive approaches in education and enhance the quality of the learning environment in response to contemporary challenges.
